Before talking to us about finding suitable solutions, the customer was facing challenges with products being mixed up with no stock locations. These issues had a knock-on effect with pick errors happening, extended lead times and poor service levels.
Exporta were tasked with helping to get stock locations online, organise products more effectively so that lead times could be improved, and efficiencies made without increasing headcount.
With our experienced team, we were able to find a solution that included Gravity Fed Shelving to store and organise products. Bale Arm Crates for storing and moving products easily, and Protectacages that are both sturdy and practical for safe and secure moving of heavy goods.
We visited the site to get a better understanding of the issues, and from there we were able to deliver our excellent, first-class service. Although there was one small challenge during the installation of the shelving system, this was able to be resolved quickly.
Since completing the project, the customer has seen increased revenue from £5M to £8.2M. This is with no increased headcount and eliminated overtime, in line with the initial aim of the project. On time in full (OTIF) was previously 72%, with Saturday overtime required and a minimum 5-day lead time. OTIF is now 100%, with no overtime on Saturday’s and now they can offer same day or next day delivery.
